Worth It

November 13, 2015
Embracing rainy season in Bali at the water temple

Today I made the tough decision to part ways with some friends who were heading back down to Seminyak. I just don’t feel like I’m done with Ubud and am still hoping to get what I want out of it (some solo time to recharge, readjust, reflect and, of course, write). But I was sad to say goodbye and a bit scared to be on my own again.

Making the conscious decision to be on your own is never an easy one, be it long term or short. This is something I’ve experienced in both superficial ways (i.e. experiencing FOMO when I miss going out for drinks in favor of attending my Pilates class) and significant ways (ending relationships, no matter how wonderful and loving because I know that something isn’t quite right).

But I believe, with everything that I am, that you have to demand more from yourself and create the life you want, given the cards you’ve been dealt. This mean making sacrifices, taking the road less traveled, and, sometimes, being lonely. But I think it’s worth it. I think I’m worth it.

Never a doubt that you are.

“Demand more for yourself.” Oh..the many times we have said this to each other. XO
